In October 2022, The First New Voice and Tianyancha.com began to collect and select China’s fastest-growing tech enterprises in the year 2022 as part of the “Digital China” series. The move was aimed at discovering and identifying fast-growing high-tech companies with good fame, stable delivery, and cross-cycle capability that are wanted by investors and recognized by clients.

On March 13, 2023, the 2022 China Technology Fast Lists was released to the public by the two institutes. Startorus Fusion was listed among the Top 50 Fastest-growing Rising Stars in 2022 and the 2022 Fastest-growing Companies of New Energy and New Materials. 

The lists this year contain a comprehensive list, a fast-growing SaaS company list, and a fast-growing hard technology company list, covering enterprises at different development stages, such as listed high-tech companies, unicorns, potential unicorns, and rising stars. Leveraging Tianyan’s big data, the two institutes evaluated companies and produced the according lists based on their business performance, financial statistics, product capacity, service capacity and market influence by distributing questionnaires and conducting company research, with a focus on “high technology and fast growth”.

Since inception in 2021, Startorus Fusion has stayed dedicated to the development and application of compact fusion systems and related technologies, taken the first commercial controlled fusion reactor in China as its mission, and devoted itself to the design, operation, and development of compact commercial controlled fusion devices with rapid iteration. It aspires to grow into a world’s leading fusion tech company that integrates research and development, design, operation, and maintenance.

The core R&D team has accumulated extensive experience in spherical tokamaks and related technologies. Based on the research outcomes of Tsinghua University, the team has proposed the concept of compact fusion reactors with repeated magnetic reconnection to achieve commercial controlled fusion. Startorus plans to develop fusion energy in a phased and rapidly iterated manner and work out comprehensive solutions to the commercial application fusion energy.
