2024 is a year full of challenges and breakthroughs for Startorus Fusion. Following the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the important precepts of President Xi, Startorus Fusion is committed to subversive technological innovation and future industrial layout, fully promoting the commercial application of fusion energy and related technology research and development, and accelerating the transformation of nuclear fusion technology from laboratory to engineering application.
During the year, there were frequent good news of the success of Startorus Fusion: it achieved the international initiative in many fields of spherical tokamak (global statistics as of the first publication of this article), took the lead in realizing the stable operation of the first international repeated reconnection technology scheme and in realizing an optimized configuration of spherical tokamak plasma, and was about to start building the world’s first negative triangle spherical tokomak NTST apparatus; the research and development of high-temperature superconducting magnets have made rapid progress, and the prototype of 18 Tesla high-field D-shaped high-temperature superconducting magnets and SH-150 Helmholtz high-temperature superconducting magnet development and test platform have been successfully developed; it has steadily promoted the commercialization of fusion-derived technologies, developed and packaged a series of signal conditioning equipment, plasma diagnostic systems and signal acquisition equipment, and contributed to the development of the fusion industry.
The performance of Startorus Fusion has won high recognition from the government and authoritative institutions, won the titles such as “Xi’an Compact Repeated Reconnection Fusion Engineering Research Center” and “China Potential Unicorn”, and achieved good results in many innovation and entrepreneurship competitions, including the “Excellent Enterprise Award of 13th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Subversive Technology Innovation Competition” and “Gold Award of Shaanxi Post-doctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition”. These honors are not only the recognition of the company’s R&D strength, but also the affirmation of the company’s scientific and technological innovation potential by Shaanxi Provincial Government and Xi’an Municipal Government.
From a team of more than a dozen people at the beginning to more than 140 employees today, Startorus Fusion has achieved rapid development, and has a team of talents with strong R&D and engineering capabilities, which can achieve interdisciplinary and full process coverage. Looking back on the past, every step of the growth of Startorus Fusion embodies the wisdom and sweat of team members.
