Recently, Shanghai Jiading District released the list of major engineering projects for 2026, and Startorus Fusion Shanghai Experimental Base has been successfully selected as a major project in the industrial development category. The project of Startorus Fusion was officially signed and settled in Xuhang Town, Jiading District on January 12, 2026. Only half a month later, the project was listed as a district-level major project, which fully demonstrates forward-looking layout and firm confidence of Jiading District in the future energy industry.

Located in Xuhang Town, Jiading District, Startorus Fusion Shanghai Experimental Base is an important part of the company’s strategic layout. The project will focus on constructing a high-standard apparatus hall, modern research and development workshops, and supporting service facilities.
In 2026, Startorus Fusion will invest in building the world’s first native negative triangular spherical tokamak apparatus—NTST in Jiading District. The apparatus will be mainly used to preliminary verify key technologies of the “Startorus-1” apparatus, including the cryogenic cooling system and mechanical design. In 2027, the company will officially launch the construction of the engineering validation apparatus “Startorus-1”, which is planned to achieve full-parameter operation in 2029. By then, the apparatus is expected to reach the fusion target of an equivalent Q≥1, making it one of the world’s leading high-performance spherical tokamak apparatus.
The selection as a major project in Jiading District not only recognizes Startorus Fusion’s technical route and team capabilities, but also strongly supports the company’s social responsibility in promoting energy transition. Going forward, we will continue to deepen scientific and technological research, gather high-end talents, expand industrial collaboration, actively integrate into the construction of Shanghai as an international science and technology innovation center to strive to light up the future of clean energy
